CAPPELLETTI GROUP since 1966

The company EDIL CERVINO s.r.l. was founded in 1994 by Cappelletti Arminio Antonio, formerly owner since 1966 of the same name individual enterprise and by his sons: architect Valerio and surveyor Alessio who are still leading the ownership.
Cappelletti Arminio Antonio who achieved in 2016 fifty years of profitable business activity moved to Cervinia at the beginning of the 60s from Radicofani: a small village in the province of Siena (Italy) where he emerged for his dedication and his talent as “master builder”.
In the early ‘60s there was the economic boom and Cervinia was constantly growing: the quiet town becomes little by little a big construction site and the cranes which stood up in the shipyards were numerous. Many investors were tourism-oriented especially for the winter season and job opportunities increased in number for construction businessman: Antonio was one of these and he took advantage of this opportunity. He invested his savings and he bought the first crawler by a bank loan: Fiat FL4, one of the first which were sold in Piedmont and Aosta Valley. With this vehicle he began the first digs of a hotel and after that he got involved in more and more important works.
Within a few years he expanded his drilling, transport and construction material supplies activity: bricks and concrete which he bought from manufacturers and distributed with his 18-wheelers straight to site.
In the same period, where now it’s placed the Vorpilles quarry, two local businessmen took over the aggregate quarry built in the 30s by Breda firm for the production of aggregates intended to the hydroelectric basins construction site and they put it into operation for the production of aggregates for the buildings in Cervinia: it was called Marmore quarry like the stream which flows downhill.
The facility created by “Loro & Parisini” was then designed by mining engineers and already produced excellent quality supplies cleaned and selected in 3 sizes: gravel, fine gravel and sand which was conveyed in loading hopper by rudimentary tapes.
The Company Cappelletti through the production of aggregates of the Marmore quarry, contributed to the construction of the main building in Cervinia: Giomein complex built in the 60s on the project devised by the architect M. Galvagni and the area of Cielo Alto whose building has been started little later and accomplished by the Cappelletti Company itself in the 1985 with the construction of the towels.
In the winter 1975 an avalanche seriously destroyed the quarry and the Cappelletti Arminio Antonio firm acquired part of the Cava Marmore company and after few years he became the only owner.
Since then the Cappelletti Arminio Antonio firm continued the production of aggregate and specializing itself in the production of high quality concretes with the intention to satisfy its clients.
From 1983 to 1992 the firm installed a moving system for the aggregates and concretes production in the vicinity of Maen lake, in the ditrict of Valtournenche.
In 1993 the Vorpilles quarry got back to its full activity for the production of both concrete and aggregate.
Since the 1930s the high quality of the material extracted already emerged, when the firm Breda individuated the Vorpilles quarry for the building of the Goillet hydroelectric basin.
The company kept producing high quality concretes and the works which were built with them turned to be long-lasting even after many years they still have an excellent preservation status. They perfectly react to mechanical and chemical stress which were submitted providing proof of fulfilling the resistance and durability tests.
